And here's a small thing that tripped me up: some European procurement sites list these under the German phrase “Netzteile meanwell,” which lumps the entire product family into one catch-all category. It's not a commodity. It's a family of engineering solutions that all happen to carry the same logo.

- Verify on arrival. Packaging, label text, weight, batch codes. If you've handled genuine units, the counterfeits feel light and slightly “off.” When in doubt, compare against an authorized sample—takes five minutes.
And one more step: automate the routine. I set up a pre-approved reorder list with our distributor, so the parts we always need skip the sourcing dance. That cut my monthly procurement workload from about three hours to twenty minutes. The time saved is a benefit that never appears on an invoice.
